Durga Devi is often portrayed with eight arms, all of which have some arms. Devi Durga is depicted as a fearless goddess riding on a lion. She is known as the wife of Mahadev( the god of destruction).
Amongst the many forms of goddesses, Durga Mata is the most worshipped form. She destroys the devil powers that strike peace, prosperity, and religion. It is believed that she protects the innocents and kills the demons.
Durga has been described as Adi Shakti, Pradhan Prakriti, Gunjya Maya, Mother of Wisdom and knowledge. She is also compared to Param Brahma ( the creator).
